Hair Restoration FAQs
You may experience mild redness, swelling, and soreness to the scalp following treatment. The severity will depend on the aggressiveness and extent of the treatment. Tylenol and/or ice may be used to alleviate discomfort.
- Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications or blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 48 hours before your treatment.
- No alcohol or blood thinners (including fish oil and ginkgo) for at least 6 hours before treatment.
- Avoid other skin procedures, such as Botox® or fillers, for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
- Wash hair thoroughly the morning of the procedure. Do not apply any hair products.
- Ensure you are well-hydrated – drink plenty of water the day before and the day of treatment. We recommend drinking approximately half of your body weight in fluid ounces.
- If you have hair extensions, please remove them from the treatment area.
- Do not treat hair (hair coloring, dyes, perms, etc.) for at least 7 days prior to your treatment.
Treatment depends on your goals, however, we recommend 3 to 4 treatments, typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
